Pacific Crest Trail in 2021!
I will be attempting the second of my three Triple Crown thru-hikes for my Trek Dirty to Me project with the Pacific Crest Trail starting in March of 2021!
The PCT was made famous recently in the book and movie ‘Wild.’ At least made famous enough to be the only trail recognized by my friends overseas, where I have been living for the last 4 years.
Spanning 2,654 miles (4,270 km), the trail takes me through Washington, Oregon, and California between Mexico and Canada following the highest portion of the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Range. I will be hiking south to north.
This means that I will be dealing with desert and little water to start, ice and snow and the need for an ice axe and crampons for the mountains. Also, mosquitos, rattlesnakes and bears. And wolves.
There should be some fascinating folks along the way, but there are far fewer opportunities to go off-trail to visit towns.You can follow along with all the prep and whatnot until then and then the actual hike itself by clicking here!
